As many had already predicted earlier this year, the entire mess surrounding the controversial release of Aliens: Colonial Marines has resulted in the first class-action lawsuit. Unsurprisingly, both Sega and Gearbox Software feel that the suit has no merit and will not stand in the court of law.

| Borderlands 2 developer gifts fans with free in-game items all weekend long
Added: 04.05.2013 16:20 | 1 views | 0 comments
To start out the weekend on a positive note, Gearbox Software gave out new SHiFT Codes on Friday for Borderlands 2. Every system has its own code and each redemption gifts a player a single golden key which can be traded for rare gear inside the game.
SHiFT Codes can be redeemed in the Borderlands 2 main menu. After doing so, fans will have a golden key automatically on their Vault Hunter the next time they enter the game. These keys can be stored up and are used to open a special loot chest found within the city of Sanctuary. Opening the chest consumes a single golden key and grants the player a rare piece of level-appropriate gear.

I'm really happy about this news. I'm not happy that one of my favorite developers is getting hit with some hard claims of injustice or that Sega might finally drop off the map after this debacle, but I am happy that consumers have some voice to speak up for them during a blatantly anti-consumer fiasco involving Sega, Gearbox Software and Aliens: Colonial Marines.
